Description of Services
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks two skilled Database Administrators to join its Social Services Applications Division. Candidates will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of database solutions critical to the performance and availability of the TIERS application portfolio.
The role involves building high-performance databases and applications, supporting cross-functional teams, and utilizing Agile methodologies. Candidates must be prepared to work 24/7 as needed to support database administration and troubleshoot issues across production, development, and test environments.
Responsibilities include:
Designing, developing, and maintaining database solutions.
Collaborating with development teams and stakeholders to enhance applications.
Administering Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other database platforms.
Developing CI/CD workflows using tools like Jenkins.
Optimizing SQL and PL/SQL code for performance tuning.
Providing database operations support, including on-call availability.
Implementing database automation and APEX tools.
Performing data modeling, prototyping, and security recovery procedures.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Experience: Minimum 8 years of database management, SQL/PLSQL optimization, and performance tuning.
Skills: Strong expertise in Oracle 11g/19c, CI/CD automation, APEX development, and Agile methodologies.
Tools: Proficiency with Erwin Modeling, Oracle SQL Developer, and Linux shell scripting.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of database architecture, partition analysis, and database security.
