Job Description:

Akkodis is looking for an Electrical Wire Harness Engineer in Victorville, CA which is a 12-month contract-to-hire role. Ideally, you will design, develop, and execute electrical systems and instrumentation for flight test applications. This includes creating electrical drawings, working with data acquisition systems, and using CAD tools like NX and AutoCAD. You will lead and contribute to the integration and troubleshooting of flight test instrumentation and electrical systems, ensuring project requirements and business goals are met.

Pay Range: $50-$65/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and generate electrical drawings and Instrumentation Control Diagrams (ICDs).
  • Design and integrate flight test instrumentation systems, including data acquisition and signal conditioning.
  • Execute and evaluate assigned projects, ensuring compliance with technical and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, airframers, and engineering customers to ensure project success.
  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical milestones, schedules, and contract deliverables.
  • Create action plans to address and resolve technical issues.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and documentation for assigned projects.
  • Participate in technical and program reviews, presenting project updates as required.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor aircraft electrical systems, power management, and data acquisition systems.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design, flight test instrumentation, or related fields.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as NX and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of data acquisition systems and instrumentation design principles.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, including alternating (single and three-phase) and direct current.
  • Ability to create and review electrical and instrumentation drawings.
  • Willingness to work off-shift hours, weekends, and at offsite locations for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel with Flying Test Bed aircraft and participate in flight tests.
  • Able to obtain and maintain an FAA Class-3 medical certificate or equivalent.

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with flight test operations and airframe/propulsion system integration.
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery instrumentation, signal conditioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Teamcenter and NX applications.
  • Technical experience in designing and troubleshooting analog and digital data acquisition systems.
