Our client is seeking a proactive and results-driven Plant Manager to oversee and manage production operations in their new facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient production schedules, maintaining inventory accuracy, overseeing shipping and receiving, and managing a team of employees. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight: Work with the scheduling team to determine and meet production goals. Ensure operations run efficiently and meet quality standards.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products and communicate any issues or demand changes to the purchasing department.
Shipping & Receiving: Ensure the accurate shipping and receiving of raw materials and finished products, maintaining documentation and compliance with company procedures.
Team Management: Recruit, hire, and train new employees. Provide ongoing coaching and performance management to maintain a productive and motivated workforce.
Equipment Setup & Maintenance: Perform hard setups on equipment and machines as required. Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and oversee necessary repairs.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all employees adhere to safety protocols, ISO procedures, and company policies.
Managerial Duties: Handle day-to-day operational tasks, such as reporting, budgeting, workflow optimization, and cross-department communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, business management, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production management role.
Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and quality control practices.
Proficient in using manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a diverse team.
Mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment setup and maintenance coordination.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move around the plant and perform hands-on tasks as needed.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and lubricants.
Additional info:
candidate will train for a few weeks at the Waukesha, WI (travel and lodging paid by company).
The Baltimore facility is on the smaller size and they are starting from scratch
