Job Description:

Must have experience with either Commerical, Builders Risk/Inland Marine or Construction insurance experience. This role is primarily remote but will require a resource onsite 1x per month in Atlanta, GA.

Underwriter Technician Responsibilities:

The Underwriting Technician is responsible for timely and accurate policy processing that is consistent with compliance and performance standards. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Underwriter Technician performs submission review, clearance and service customer requests to ensure the highest customer service standards.

Underwriter Technician duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Evaluate new submissions for completeness; request information as needed and communicate to Underwriting team and brokers within the territory (exposure, loss and general account data, etc.)
• Analyze and process endorsements and filing service requests based on assigned authority.
• Perform file documentation for all submission and policy requests, recording pertinent data, in order to develop and maintain the department's data management system to include rate analysis, quotes, binders, and other key statistics. Maintain all active underwriting files for completeness.
• Input raw exposure data into client policy management system and complete catastrophe modeling.
• Assist with the set up and tracking of assignments/task for all accounts.
• Develop key relationships with the underwriting team, assigned brokers, and members of the client organization.

Experience/Required Skills:
• High School Degree or Equivalent required.
• Minimum of three year of customer service experience.
• Strong planning and organization skills; ability to maintain accurate records.
• Strong communication skills on multiple platforms.
• Ability to multi-task paired with strong time management skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
• Must be able to make informed decisions and effectively meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail; accurate proofreading skills.
• Flexibility and tenacity; ability to work in a team environment.

Physical Demands:
• The employee is regularly required to sit at a desk for prolonged periods and work on a computer; occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Ability to travel as needed.

Work Environment:
• The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
