Laboratory Technician - Valdez, AK

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking qualified individuals for a role with petrochemical testing client in Valdez, AK. The Laboratory Technician performs duties to support analytical testing for the company and its clients. The job involves receiving, logging, and testing inbound samples, ensuring supplies are available, and maintaining accurate documentation. Tasks include preparing samples and solutions, calibrating equipment, and assisting in training. Adherence to safety and company policies is essential.

Job Details:

Pay rate: $25 - $30/hr depending on experience

Shift: Flexible morning schedule with some overnights required

Job type: Temp-to-hire

Relocation assistance available

Responsibilities:
  • Receive, log, and examine inbound samples for testing.
  • Deliver samples to staging area.
  • Monitor and report supply needs to Lab Manager.
  • Perform testing and quality control after demonstrating proficiency.
  • Prepare samples, quality control specimens, reagents, and solutions.
  • Calibrate equipment for testing processes.
  • Verify, document, and communicate results accurately.
  • Maintain documentation, equipment, and work areas.
  • Assist in training less experienced employees.
  • Adhere to safety and company policies.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in a science field preferred
  • 0-2 years of laboratory experience
  • Be aware of, and adhere to, all safety practices
  • Ability to handle chemical and petroleum products
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule for working potential OT
