About the Role:

Currie & Brown is looking for Sr. Quantity Surveyors to support client projects in the Allentown, PA area. The successful candidate will support project leaders by providing construction expertise of our core services, including estimation, procurement, cost planning and more. These functions should be performed while generating a high standard of service, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing, and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation, and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining MEP and/or CSA scope budgets and tracking project costs throughout the life of projects
  • Undertaking change management, estimating impacts of changes and contingency drawdown
  • Developing WBS and cost breakdowns
  • Developing risk register and tracking impacts
  • Conducting Electrical cost estimating through various design stages using experience, historical data and parametric ratios
  • Ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively
  • Ensuring correct production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
  • Value engineering and lifecycle costing
  • Undertaking payment recommendations and reviewing contractor/consultant invoices
  • Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages
  • Where appropriate, leading a cost management team and ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a related technical field
  • A minimum of five years' cost management and/or estimating experience
  • Experience working on large complex tech manufacturing or industrial projects preferred
  • Quantity surveying background preferable
  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products (MS Word, Excel, Project)
  • Ability to self-manage, requiring minimal supervision
  • Good time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
