Position Overview:
We are seeking a Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) Designer to join our team in Grand Prairie, TX. This role is pivotal in ensuring our leathers are not only aesthetically pleasing but also perfectly matched to our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of color management, LAB color space, and color theory, as well as a passion for delivering exceptional results.
The CMF Designer will work closely with our internal teams and suppliers to develop, implement, and oversee color and material strategies, ensuring all designs align with Aeristo's high standards of quality and innovation. This position requires occasional travel to collaborate with suppliers, partners, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Color Management and Development:
Conduct and oversee LAB color readings to ensure accurate and consistent color matching for all leather products.
Develop and maintain color palettes, ensuring cohesion across projects and adherence to customer expectations.
Work with suppliers to evaluate material samples, providing technical input to refine color accuracy and quality.
Manage the lifecycle of color sampling, from concept to production approval.
Trend Research and Application:
Stay current on industry trends in materials, finishes, and color theory to inform and innovate Aeristo's offerings.
Collaborate with the design and production teams to translate trends into viable product designs.
Documentation and Process Management:
Create detailed documentation of all color specifications, including LAB values, material properties, and technical standards.
Develop and maintain a robust material and color library for internal and client use.
Standardize CMF processes to ensure consistency across all manufacturing partners.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with internal teams, including Design, Production, and Marketing, to align CMF strategies with Aeristo's goals.
Partner with external suppliers to troubleshoot color matching challenges and ensure timely delivery of samples.
What We're Looking For:
Experience & Education:
Bache
lor's degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Exper
ience in a design or manufacturing environment, preferably in materials, finishes, or color management.Technical Expertise:Basic
knowledge of LAB color space, color theory, and color measurement tools.
Familiarity with color matching processes and an understanding of manufacturing constraints.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and related design tools.
Experience with 3D rendering software is a plus.
