SUMMARY
As an SME, you will play a crucial role in providing expert guidance, technical support, and strategic insights to optimize corrosion control, support Technology Labs in test designs and modeling, as well as work with water treatment processes across our operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and operations personnel, to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices while driving continuous improvement in these critical areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide expert advice and technical support to ensure effective corrosion control strategies throughout the organization.Conduct thorough assessments of existing corrosion control programs, identifying gaps, and recommending appropriate remedial actions.Develop and implement comprehensive corrosion monitoring plans, including selection and installation of monitoring equipment, data collection, and analysis.Perform root cause analyses to determine the factors contributing to corrosion-related incidents and develop mitigation strategies accordingly.Stay updated with the latest industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to corrosion control.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage corrosion modeling software to provide value-added services to our clients.Designing fit for purpose test methodologies for validating corrosion inhibition chemistries in different production and transmission environments.Develop and deliver training programs for operational staff to enhance their understanding of corrosion control and water treatment best practices.Participate in the design and review of engineering projects, providing expert input to ensure corrosion-resistant materials, coatings, and designs are incorporated.Act as a subject matter expert during audits and inspections, assisting in the resolution of non-compliance issues and the implementation of corrective actions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as chemistry, materials science, microbiology, or chemical engineering. Advanced certifications or degrees would be an advantage.Extensive industry experience and expertise in corrosion control, microbiology, and water treatment, with a focus on practical applications in oilfield settings.In-depth knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, microbiological growth, and water treatment processes, including chemical treatments, filtration, disinfection, and monitoring techniques.Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices, such as AMPP, ASTM, API, and regulatory requirements for water quality.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify underlying issues, and develop effective solutions.Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proven track record of successfully implementing corrosion control and water treatment programs, achieving measurable results in terms of reducing corrosion-related incidents and improving water quality.Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.Professional certifications, such as NACE Certified Internal Corrosion Technologist (CCT), Certified Industrial Microbiologist (CIM), or Certified Water Treatment Specialist (CWTS), would be desirable.
