Summary:
The Department of Thoracic Surgery is seeking a full-time pulmonologist at the Assistant/Associate level, interested in practicing general pulmonology, lung cancer screening and diagnostic bronchoscopic procedures, as well as contribute to a growing Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction (BLVR) programs. The successful candidate will join a vibrant multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists dedicated to understanding and treating pulmonary complications in patients with and without cancer, along with education of staff and trainees.
General responsibilities include outpatient clinics, inpatient consults, general pulmonary medicine, lung cancer screening and preoperative bronchoscopy. The successful candidate will have an interest in procedural bronchoscopy, help to develop and build an interstitial lung disease evaluation service and help to strengthen existing service lines including advanced emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and asthma. The major components of practice will include bronchoscopy, as well as research screening bronchoscopies and EBUS bronchoscopies. Additionally, there is opportunity for critical care practice dependent on the candidate's interest and experience.
Additional opportunities include clinical and translational research, participation, and leadership in clinical trials, as well as teaching and supervision of trainees. Applicants are required to be board certified or eligible in both pulmonary disease and critical care medicine and be eligible for a NY State Medical License. The search committee will consider clinical expertise and leadership qualities in addition to translational research interests, publication record, and commitment to clinical care and teaching. Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications and years of experience. Faculty will also be recommended for a joint appointment at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine.
Salary range is $191,047-$400,021 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Required Education and Experience
License and Certification Requirement
1. License or permit to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York.
2. Possession of or eligibility for a valid medical specialty certificate in Thoracic Surgery and Oncology.
Education and Experience
Medical Doctor degree and prior full-time experience in the specialty of Thoracic Surgery and Oncology.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
