Job Summary
The Philadelphia Wings are seeking an outgoing, and energetic individual to represent the team as "Wingston". The Philadelphia Wings Mascot will engage with members of the public to promote the sport of lacrosse and create a memorable experience for fans. We want someone to bring our mascot to life!
This position will be responsible for various operational elements related to the mascot and the Wings' broader community engagement efforts.
IMPORTANT: Please note that you must be between 5'7-5'11 to fit into the mascot costume.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Serve as the lead performer for the Philadelphia Wings, representing the Wings at designated appearances including but not limited to home games, Wings events, hospital visits, school visits, lacrosse clinics, watch parties, sponsor events, charitable events, and other various events throughout the year.
Work interdepartmentally to develop a guide to Wingston's brand -mannerisms, likes/dislikes, etc.
Work with Game Presentation to develop and execute in-game skits
Develop and produce content for Wingston's social channels.
Maintain and coordinate Wingston's schedule of appearances.
Manage the appearance budget.
Manage our youth program registration platforms.
Assist with ticketing software when necessary.
Assist with the distribution and fulfillment of complimentary tickets to community members
Assist with ticket redemption from our school programs
Work with the Director of Lacrosse & Community Operations to schedule school programs, acting as the primary point of contact for schools.
Oversee the Donation Request process reviewing requests from nonprofits.
Act as a brand ambassador for the Philadelphia Wings while properly representing the organization in a professional manner at all times.
Create memorable experiences by greeting fans, energizing the crowd, and more.
Maintain effective working relationships with community members of all ages and abilities as well as Philadelphia Wings staff and external contacts.
Responsible for transportation and parting to and from games and events, unless otherwise notified.
Conduct costume maintenance including cleaning, minor repairs, and other basic upkeep.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
Must be between 5'7-5'11 to fit into the mascot costume.
Must have prior mascot experience.
