Position Overview
Tune, maintain, and repair all pianos on the UCO campus. Coordinate piano moving with outside contractors as necessary. Develop and update a maintenance plan for pianos on the UCO campus. Keep track of piano inventory and recommend purchasing as needed.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions
Responsible for all pianos located on the UCO campus, primary emphasis being the Music Building, Mitchell Hall and the Jazz lab. Includes concert tuning and preparation, maintenance of all pianos including regulation, voicing, repairs, and rebuilding. Will work with the School of Music Piano Division Head and Director of the School of Music to determine tuning and repair schedule for each instrument and will submit monthly report. Performs other related duties as determined by the needs of the School of Music regarding the tuning, maintenance and repair of UCO pianos. Qualifications/Experience Required
Requires general education or vocational training and 6+ years of relevant experience in chosen field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to facilitate communication with faculty, staff and administration. Must be committed to the highest ethical standards and demonstrate effective leadership and teamwork skills.
Ability to tune and maintain harpsichords, organs, and other keyboard instruments.
