Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Network Engineer IV to oversee and participate in the design, testing, upgrade, and integration of sophisticated information networks. This position will focus on implementing and managing network solutions such as Local Area Networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Voice over IP (VoIP), and other communications networks to meet organizational business requirements and strategic goals.
The Network Engineer IV serves as a technical expert, providing leadership in network architecture, conducting comprehensive reviews, and assessing current and future software and hardware needs. This role involves documenting all aspects of the network engineering process, managing the deployment and configuration of network systems, and coordinating upgrades and changes with network administrators and stakeholders. The candidate will contribute to high-impact assignments while ensuring compliance with security measures and emerging technologies.
Compensation Minimum: $140,000
Compensation Maximum: $145,000
Job Requirements:
Skills / Experience Required
Possess and maintain an active Secret DoD clearance
Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) training and four years of practical experience in a production environment
5+ years or more experience in a major hospital supporting more than 100+ beds environment
5+ years of experience supporting a military production network
10+ years of experience supporting LAN and WLAN activities
Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure network solutions, including deployment of 1300+ Wireless Access Points (WAPs)
Ability to plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard new and existing networks
Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning to optimize performance and reliability
Collaborate with architects to evaluate and recommend emerging network technologies
Assist network administrators with complex troubleshooting, coordinating vendor engagement when necessary
Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support for deployed networks in both lab and production environments
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for build, configuration, testing, and deployment processes
Lead major technology assignments and supervise technical staff as needed
Possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments
Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments
Education / Certifications
Master's degree (MA/MS/ME)
2 additional years of relevant experience is needed if substituting a bachelor's degree in a related field for the master's degree
Commercial (baseline) certificates: One form of a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) level certification
IT Security Designation: ADP/IT-II
Investigation Required: Tier 3 (T3)
IA Technical/Management Designation: IAT II and CE

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen.
