The University of Chicago has a tradition of innovative interdisciplinary scholarship in the social sciences applied to health and health care. These include the relationship of individual and population health to social capital and human capital and neighborhood contexts, to the economics, organization and management of social institutions and policies. The Biological Sciences Division, other academic units of the University, and the University of Chicago Medical Center, are all contained within one compact campus in Chicago's Hyde Park.
