Job Description
Manage and oversee unit operational functions, human resource management, special projects, and process redesign. Coordinates project teams to ensure quality implementations within established timelines. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment for patients and staff. Support operational needs when necessary, including patient care.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in nursing, education, leadership, or other healthcare related field
Minimum 1 year of leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting
Pediatric experience
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Certification Summary
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
Professional Nursing Certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire.

Must have excellent written and verbal skills
Demonstrates the ability to organize workloads and resources
Has strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with a variety of personnel within the hospital, including administrative and executive staff

Manages environment for delivery of care.
Acts as clinical resource for patient population in area.
Provides patient care coverage based on staffing need.
Maintains ability to assist with clinical care.

Participates in educational process related to delivery of healthcare.
Maintains own professional development.
Fosters professional development of others via constructive performance feedback, input, and coaching.
Serves as direct supervisor for CN4s and CN5s.
Engagement (Engaging and Leading Professionally)
Provides leadership for project management and change.
Participates actively in and supports shared leadership councils.
Fosters collegial relationships between team members, other departments, and medical staff members.
Demonstrates fiscal accountability in supporting budget preparation, monthly analysis, and compliance to budget guidelines.
Provides on-call and call worked coverage, as necessary, including nights and weekends.
Serves as unit leader in absence of manager.
Outcomes (Driving Excellent Results)
Participates in achievement of organizational and departmental goals.
Participates in departmental national recognition data collection processes and analysis.
Facilitates and coordinates work toward care standardization and performance improvement in accordance with evidence- based practice.
Performs other responsibilities as required.
