You will work on diverse and exciting brand strategy projects, drive long-term strategic planning and shape plans to improve Suntory's global brand-building capabilities. You will join the Global Brands & Capabilities arm of Suntory's global Strategy team, whose mission is to: Shape the strategy of SGS global priority brands and the advancement of SGS brand-building capabilities in pursuit of our mission of becoming The Most Admired Spirits Company. This is a high caliber team with a strong track record. This role also presents opportunities for pursuing careers in commercial / business development, marketing, and/or many other roles. It is among a small number of roles in SGS that are uniquely positioned to give a broad and cross-functional view of the business (e.g., from production to brand strategy to in-market distribution).

The role reports to the Sr. Director, Global Brands & Capabilities Strategy. 80%+ of day-to-day work will be done in close collaboration with one or both of the Strategy Directors in the team and ~30% directly with the Sr.Director.

Role Responsibilities

Lead key projects, strategic / long-term planning and change management in support of the Global Brands Organization. As such, the role would collaborate with two stakeholder groups which report to the Chief Global Brands Officer:

(1) Several of the Brand Houses (SGS' cross-functional global brand teams), and

(2) the Insights, Innovation and Marketing Excellence group, consisting of several teams

This means that the role would undertake projects specific so certain brands, but also transversal projects that have relevance to the SGS strategy and ways-of-working broadly. This complex role would involve work on a broad range of topics and serves as a great set-up for accelerated learning and professional development.


  • Leading the cross-functional long-term planning process (12 Year Plan) for certain brands, taking the initiative to formulate and align upwards the priority topics with the ELT and coordinating efforts of respective Marketing, Finance, and Operating Unit teams
  • Support project delivery and project management activities for strategic initiatives and projects. This will involve operating in a versatile manner, adapting to different levels of hands-on project involvement and ways of influencing the project work e.g., some projects will require 'consultative' involvement to give the work structure and a plan to enable others to drive the work effectively, others - will be an opportunity for holistic project leadership including the scoping and delivery of the work (nearly always with support of other colleagues)
  • Drive targeted analytics to support key decision-making moments and to drive better clarity on the strategic options available. This will require taking a structured, hypothesis-driven approach to ensure analysis can be done efficiently and in support of a clear set of communication materials / outputs
  • Develop updates / presentations to senior stakeholders including the ELT, Board of Directors, etc. aimed at gaining internal alignment. Working closely with the Brand House and other Marketing leadership teams, craft effective storytelling for these senior stakeholder meetings
  • Contribute to the Brand community's continuous learning efforts e.g., by proactively taking part in Gemba and bringing outside-in insights
  • Ensure Executional Excellence of all our brands, ensuring the quality of our tools support an exception level in our activations for our Ultra Prestige/Premium+ portfolio.

Qualifications


  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in strategy consulting is a strong plus.
  • Undergraduate or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related degree are valuable.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills - the ability to extract, manipulate and analyze data.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Team player who is flexible and adaptable in their approach.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (candidate will develop and maintain key working relationships within the organization that cross over finance, strategy, and marketing, supply chain).
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively (verbally and in writing) in English.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Self-starter, curiosity, desire, and ability to think beyond the surface level, dive deeper into analysis and data.
  • CPG and/or Luxury industry experience a plus

Salary Range - The salary range for this role, based in New York, is $120,000 to $135,000, along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The salary range is commensurate with the candidate's location, experience, and skillset. The range will vary if outside of this location.
