Assistant Professor of Psychology (TT) - Biopsychology



The Department of Psychology at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track appointment at the rank of assistant professor starting in August 2025 pending final administrative approval. We seek candidates with expertise in Biopsychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical Neuroscience, with preference given to those with a demonstrated commitment to excellence, innovation, and diversity in undergraduate teaching, close interaction with students, and a research program that includes undergraduates. The department of Psychology features a space dedicated to animal research, but this is not a requirement for the position. Minimum qualifications include a doctorate in Psychology by the time of the appointment. Specific teaching assignments will include Biopsychology, Research in Biopsychology, Introductory Psychology (team-taught), and Psychological Research Methods and possibly general education courses, including our innovative first year courses.


Teaching load will average 20 semester credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and all faculty members teach during the College's distinctive four-week January Term. Tenure-track faculty are expected to actively engage in scholarly or creative activities. Committee service, including campus wide and departmental governance, and academic advising are expected for re-appointment, tenure, and promotion.

Salary Range: $61,000-63,000
