Job Summary
The Roman Family Center for Decision Research provides the Principal Researcher (PR) with a supportive research environment to a highly qualified recent PhD. This Principal Researcher focuses on research projects in collaboration with Center for Decision Research researchers on projects in their field of specialty. The PR will be a major collaborator on scholarly work with faculty from the Roman Family CDR, and may be required to present that research at academic conferences. The PR will also serve as a statistics and methods consultant for the Roman Family CDR research community.
Responsibilities
Conducts collaborative research with faculty, to be presented at academic forums and published in peer-reviewed academic journals.
Collects data and conducts statistical analysis.
Conducts literature reviews and performs research.
Engages in the intellectual environment of the University of Chicago through workshops, presentations, seminars, and collaboration with faculty and other researchers.
Contributes to participant recruitment efforts of the PIMCO Decision Research Laboratories
Performs administrative duties associated with the management of a research group, lab, center and at Mindworks, a public-facing behavioral science laboratory and discovery center.
Teaching assistant responsibility for up to two sections each year, of a behavioral science course for MBAs taught by the managing faculty member.
Provides statistical consulting support to graduate students, postdoctoral students and other researchers.
Uses subject matter and best practices knowledge to perform lab and/or research-related duties and tasks. Works independently to assist with project design.
Guides data collection, evaluation and analysis. Designs and manages databases. Writes reports, articles and manuscripts.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

ABD status by start date, August or September 2025.
PhD by start date in a field relevant to the research being conducted.
PhD after one year of employment.

A minimum four years of relevant research experience.

Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
