Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and integration of RF communication systems, encompassing ground entry points, networks, and satellite systems.
Perform systems engineering tasks, including requirements analysis, system design, trade studies, integration, and verification.
Conduct technical planning, cost/risk analyses, and supportability assessments for complex RF and modem communication systems.
Develop and evaluate secure systems and networks to meet governmental security specifications.
Manage and coordinate external interfaces, ICDs, and cross-domain security implementations.
Provide technical leadership in decomposing and managing requirements to avoid scope creep and ensure agile program execution.
Collaborate with partners such as Iridium, SDA, Northrup, York, and Lockheed to align and integrate design elements.
Support modeling, simulation, and system accreditation/certification processes for secure systems.
Drive system deployment and in-field testing of RF networks, ensuring compliance with performance standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field, plus 10+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 8+ years of experience.
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Technical Expertise:
Complex RF system design for satellite, radio, or cellular networks.
RF and modem communications system link budget design and error budget analysis.
Software or hardware system design for high-speed data applications, including network layer and transport protocols.
Deployment and in-field testing of RF networks.
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of satellite communications and ground-to-satellite operations.
System-level networking experience to coordinate detailed designs with GFE WAN providers.
Agile program experience with scope management and complex systems engineering.
