As a Machine Operator, you will work closely with production managers and other team members to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards and safety protocols. You will be responsible for setting up, safety and efficiently operating, and maintaining machinery to fill and package Liquid Silicone Rubber to desired customer specifications.
The ideal candidate is someone with strong technical proficiency, meticulous diligence, and critical thinking skills, coupled with a deep commitment to safety and teamwork. They should possess physical stamina, reliability, and a continuous improvement mindset to excel in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate machinery safely and efficiently to produce high-quality products, which includes reading batch instructions for directions, such as proper amounts, temperature controls, weights and sequences of raw materials, and any other additional instructions.
Safely operate multiple types of mixers, fillers, pumps, and other related equipment when required.
Monitor machines during operation to detect any deviations or malfunctions and take corrective action as needed.
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet specified standards.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery to keep it in optimal working condition.
Troubleshoot machinery issues and perform minor repairs as necessary.
Learn and understand basic customer requirements and the equipment and materials used in filling, packaging, and finishing.
Maintain accurate production records, including systematic production of batches blended and packaged.
Maintain work area in clean and orderly manner, drive Lean 5S initiative throughout the facility with emphasis on production run transitions.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment and ensure that all safety equipment is readily available and that all guards are in place.
Collaborate with production team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and achieve production targets.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma
One + years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining machinery, including knowledge of machine controls and basic troubleshooting techniques.
Ability to follow work instructions and procedures.
Ability to work with WMS/ERP software.
Ability to operate material handling equipment.
Strong diligence to ensure accuracy and quality in production processes.
Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues that may arise during machine operation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as required.
Excellent teamwork and strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Flexibility in daily work hours based on workloads.
Ability to work in a production setting for eight+ hours at a time and able to carry, push work-in-process, or lift 50lbs to shoulder height repetitively.
Ability to move and climb a mobile safety ladder.
Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Commitment to following safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience as a machine operator or similar role.
Experience with RF scanning equipment.
