SUMMARY:
The City of Fort Collins Environmental Services Department is hiring a part-time bilingual support position. Primary duties include providing administrative support, communicating with community members, developing and implementing community engagement initiatives, translating documents, and providing interpretation in Spanish and English.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.
•Candidate must be bilingual and be able to speak and write in Spanish.
•Work effectively with community members from diverse backgrounds.
•Work effectively with multiple program or project managers.
•Support the coordination and scheduling of Healthy Homes assessments and assessment logistics by communicating with community members, volunteers and staff in both English and Spanish.
•Communicate and promote department projects and engagement opportunities to the community.
•Translate project and/or program documents.
•Maintain detailed records of communications and activities.
•Provide interpretation at community events/meetings.
•Participate in other special projects.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

•Knowledge of standard office software including word processing, data base and spreadsheet applications.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
High school graduation or general education degree (GED), or related experience performing project coordination and administration.

-Ability to provide interpretation in Spanish and English
-Ability to write correspond effectively and clearly through email.
-Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
-Ability to multi-task and meet fixed deadlines
