Lead the operations of the accounting department, designing organizational structures that align with departmental goals.
Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, ensuring their compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Recruit, train, and manage accounting staff to maintain a high-performing financial team.
Transactions
Ensure Accounts Payable (AP) are paid on time and Accounts Receivable (AR) are collected promptly.
Oversee timely payroll processing.
Complete periodic bank reconciliations and ensure timely debt payments.
Maintain an accurate chart of accounts and organize accounting records.
Perform monthly and yearly closing processes in a timely manner.
Manage cash flow and cash management processes.
Reporting
Prepare and issue timely financial statements.
Coordinate semi-annual reporting and work-in-progress reports.
Provide financial analysis to support capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Compliance
Facilitate the external audit process, ensuring timely provision of necessary documentation.
Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with debt covenants.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, including tax filings.
Safeguard company operations by keeping financial data and plans confidential.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with experience managing accounting teams.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Excellent communication skills to present financial information to non-financial personnel.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines.
