Sumaria Systems is seeking a motivated and skilled structural engineer to support the F-16 Program Office at Hill AFB, UT.
Job Description:
- Provide the technical lead in troubleshooting F-16 structural problems, developing improvements leading to the resolution of issues identified, integration, verification, qualification for airworthiness certification, and fielding of repairs and modifications as defined in, or derived from, program requirements.
- Provide additional stuctural engineering support to the program as needed.
- Accomplish studies, reviews and analysis of technical problems/malfunctions affecting assigned equipment generated from a variety of sources, i.e., 107/202 Engineering Support Requests, DRs, AFTO Form 22s, Material Safety Task Group/ Systems Safety Group (MSTG/SSG), telephone calls, IDEAS and aircraft mishaps. Recommend appropriate corrective actions and when corrective actions are presented by using commands, contractors, and others, the Contractor will evaluate for technical adequacy and economic feasibility. Determine method of implementation, i.e., TCTO or technical order change.
- Access and use support program systems and requirements to include: D043/D143C, International Digital Technical Order Delivery System (IDTODS), FIN, JEDMICS, FSS, ETIMS, F-16 OCM, REMIS, Haystack and other databases relating to the aircraft and its systems to help determine problem areas on assigned systems and items. Assist with recommending and developing executable programs to be considered for use in ensuring the operation and evaluation of assigned systems.
- Assist Government equipment specialists, integrators and engineers in conducting special research projects as assigned. Support the USAF PM in all tasks related to this effort.
- Support trial installations, kit proofs, and TCTO/tech data verification. Report findings, kit issues, and corrective actions and make recommendations to the IPT they are assigned.
- Support feasibility studies and technical evaluations to ensure that systems, subsystems and equipment being developed are mutually compatible and serve to meet overall operational and technical requirements.
- Interface with all aspects and levels of program IPTs to include but not limited to, other engineers, program management, equipment specialists, lead and chief engineers, civilian and military leadership within the F-16 Division/FB Directorate, other AFLCMC directorates, AFLCMC headquarters, AFRL, HQ AFMC, ACC, DoD, EPAFs, prime and subcontractors, and other government and private sector personnel.
- Participate in the various standing F-16 activities and organizations including, but not limited to, the F-16 Consolidated Board, F-16 JMCCT/B, AirWorthiness Boards, Technical Design Reviews and F-16 System Safety Groups (SSG).
Required Education and Experience:
Must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree with a major in engineering from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program(s) for the degree requirements of the position. Degrees in engineering technology are not considered to be qualifying. The degree must have been received in the year of, or any year subsequent to the original date of accreditation. Shall have a minimum of BS degree in structural, aerospace or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university. Recommend a minimum of five years of experience in the aircraft structural engineering field, including but not limited to sustainment, durability and damage tolerance analysis, fatigue and fracture mechanics and material properties, repair design and integration.
Functionally Aligned Minimum Recommended Education and Experience:
Possess advanced knowledge, experience and recognized ability to be considered an expert in the technical/professional field, possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman personnel within the technical/professional discipline. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures and practices in area of expertise.
