Overview
A Senior Vice President in the department of Medical Strategy works with members of other departments within the company to ensure that our work (e.g., proposals, corporate position papers, web-copy, illustrations, animation) is medically accurate and up-to-date. This individual is also responsible for helping to ensure that all content create for health professionals is tailored to the sophistication level and interests of the target audience. These responsibilities may, at times, overlap with those of the various individuals in the Editorial Department; on some projects, an SVP may play the role of a writer, copy supervisor, or medical editor.
In addition, an SVP of Medical Strategy may be asked to contribute to new business opportunities by conducting research relevant to the prospective client's objectives, or by assessing the quality and adding his/her insights to research reports prepared by others for this purpose.
The SVP of Medical Strategy may be asked to educate client teams regarding a disease category or an aspect of science relevant to the client's product, such as pharmacology, or the competitors in a given therapeutic category.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for individuals in this position will vary depending on the skills and aptitudes (besides their professional medical knowledge and experience that they bring to CoLab. For example, someone with experience in journalism might be expected to play a more active editorial role; someone with IT experience might get involved in developing algorithms for interactive health screening programs.
Support new business development team
Support account teams in expanding scope of work for existing clients
Educate internal staff on medical topics relevant to client's brands
Direct writers in developing medical content and edit their work
Direct creative and art directors to create accurate medical imagery/animation
On occasion, write original copy.
Recruit and organization/coordination of advisory boards.
Identify sources consistent with CoLab's standards for referencing and citations.
Ensure the medical integrity, topicality, and timeliness of the content for all projects on which he/she works.
Help ensure compliance with Med/Legal processes
Qualifications
Minimum of an advanced degree in healthcare (MD, DO, DDS, or PhD in a healthcare or science field)
At least 1 year of clinical experience (beyond residency/fellowship training)
At least 2 years of agency or pharmaceutical (or biotech, or device) industry experience
Familiarity with pharmaceutical marketing principles, regulations, and practices.
Writing and editorial experience
Must be capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
Must know how to use Microsoft Word; facility with Microsoft PowerPoint is preferred.

Compensation Range: $156,560 - 246,330 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
