Performs advanced, specialized work in the planning, conducting, and/or supervising of original research at TTUHSC. Responsible for participating in, planning, scheduling and/or supervising research projects and the interpretation of the results for publication. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions
Provide project management for the timely development, promotion, implementation, reporting, and evaluation for successful completion of collaborative research.
Identify funding opportunities for coordinated mental health research, training, and workforce development and support development and submission.
Lead strategic initiatives and enhancement activities that promote collaborative research across faculty, staff, and trainees at TTUHSC and with relevant external stakeholders.
Assist in budget preparation, planning, tracking expenditures and reconciliation for research proposals and projects.
Engage in academic writing to develop project materials, and contribute to funding proposals and reports.
Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders necessary to conduct research.
Communicate with faculty, staff, and trainees to increase understanding of research processes, available resources, and provide introductions to potential research collaborators.
Assist with the development and delivery of research training in mental and behavioral health for trainees, faculty, and staff.
Participate in regular team meetings, cross-train with other team members, and provide support for large-scale projects led by other team members.
Performs varied and complex administrative duties using professionalism, independent judgment, and in compliance with established policies.
May provide supervision, training and scheduling for staff, student assistants, and program volunteers.

Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or specialized academic training beyond the Bachelor's level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a Doctoral degree. Two years research experience, knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources and standards thereof.
