Job Summary: Perform shipping and receiving duties verifying correctness and completeness of incoming and outgoing shipments and paperwork. Perform material handling duties to load and unload trucks and transport material within plant locations using forklift and crane.
Primary Functional Responsibilities:
Receive and unload material from vehicles and move to Quality Control hold area using a forklift, overhead crane or other forms of motorized vehicles.
Check packing list against purchase order and verify line item and quantity received.
Notify Quality Control of shipment and submit required paperwork.
Move material to proper department and storage area upon release.
Receive/release material from MRP system after verifying goods receiving per packing list/purchase order.
Move material in system to proper location.
Work from shop orders and other written or verbal requests to write up Bill of Lading, labels and other data required for shipping material.
Inspect and report faulty malfunctions of improper function of commercial vehicle or forklift to supervisor daily.
Maintain and clean company forklifts and other material handling equipment and check fluid levels as necessary.
Maintain work area, equipment and vehicles in safe, neat, clean and orderly condition to meet program requirements.
Perform all job functions in accordance with established operating procedures.
Identify and assist in remediation of any and all safety hazards in the workplace.
Interface with dispatchers, customers, and suppliers via phone and email.
Perform other duties as directed by Team Leader/Supervisor
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook
Knowledge with ERP systems - M3 is a plus
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to be certified to operate a forklift and use hoists to pick up heavy parts.
Ability to work overtime as required to meet customer demands.
General computer skills
Training: See EPS Training Matrix.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; 1 - 3 years of experience in shipping/ receiving department preferably in heavy steel manufacturing.
Language Skills: Ability to read and understand both written and oral instructions, e.g. operation travelers, safety notices and rules, operating and maintenance instructions, etc.
Mathematical Skills: Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply basic shop math functions.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to interpret blueprints and sketches.

The employee must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, mid-range vision, far vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Annual eye examinations may be required.
Capable of standing while operating equipment up to 12 hours daily

Work Environment: The work environment is representative of those in a standard machine shop environment including extreme cold and heat. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The work environment consists of a number assembly, hot form, torch cutting, welding and machine shop areas. While the Company makes every effort to reduce and eliminate all safety hazards, this type of environment does involve safety hazards, which require extra care on the part of the employee. Such hazards include, but are not limited to: moderate to high pressure test gases, high electrical voltages; chemicals; and sharp objects, such as might be generated around machine tools. The noise in the work environment is moderate to high. Temperature extremes are regulated, but not as closely as typical indoor offices. Personnel protection equipment is provided.
