We are currently looking for a Benefits Specialist to join our team out of our Nashville, TN office. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering Cumming’s core US benefit plans and programs and leaves of absences. Support team members by educating and informing them on their eligibility for benefits and programs and assist them with accessing and utilizing their benefits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administer Cumming benefit plans and programs across the US. Including but not limited to, health, dental, vision, life and disability, voluntary plans, and tuition assistance.
  • Liaise between carriers and Team Member to ensure timely resolution of inquiries and issues.
  • Process and audit enrollment data in Workday to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
  • Manages the Benefits email account to ensure timely response.
  • Respond to requests such as National Medical Support Notice, various state and vendor SDI and PFL notices, CMS verification of coverage. Other verification of coverage requests as needed.
  • Support monthly invoice reconciliation and enrollment audits.
  • Leave of Absence administration. Meet with Team Members prior to leave to discuss entitlements and explain the process. Collaborate with Payroll regarding Team Member’s leave status. Ensure proper leave documentation is submitted. Maintain leave of absence tracking.
  • Preserve compliance with all applicable laws, company policies and procedures.
  • Administer Tuition Reimbursement/Professional Certification program and timely processing of payments. Manage applications to ensure they align with program guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance at work during normal business hours.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Strong degree of organizational skills and ability to prioritize to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Detailed oriented and high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated internal service skills with high degree of discretion and confidentiality.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: Three years’ experience with benefits and leaves of absence administration. Multi-State and self-funded experience is preferred. Strong understanding of benefits compliance, including but not limited to, ERISA, HIPAA, ADA/ADAAA, COBRA, and FMLA. Experience with benefit admin systems, either within an HCM or externals. Workday experience is preferred but not required.
  • Preferred Certification: SHRM CP/SCP; PHR; CBP
