Bestica is seeking a Biostatistician to provide future services at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH – Onsite.

Description of Services:

The employee shall provide biostatistician support for the 711 Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), Human Effectiveness Directorate, Air and Space Biosciences Division, Product Development Branch, Women’s Health and Performance (RHBAW). The employee shall provide research services, clinical and basic science research coordination, biostatistician support services, and assistance in areas required to meet the stated objectives to accomplish the work required for the 711 HPW/RH overall organizational research requirements. employee personnel shall interface with personnel and subject matter experts from across the 711th Human Performance Wing and their research partners, to include geographically separate units, as required to support the research and provide consultative data analytic support.

Work Schedule: Work schedule is normally M-F 0730-1630; however, there may be times when it is necessary for the employee to work after duty hours in support of specific tasks. The schedule may have to be flexible.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • The employee shall possess, at minimum, a master’s level degree in statistics or biostatistics, and at least 5 years’ experience in combining, cleaning, and analyzing large multivariate datasets.
  • The employee shall possess expertise in statistical modeling, statistical modeling plans, experimental design, data analysis, and management.
  • The employee shall have knowledge and experience with common statistical methods such as survival analysis, parametric and non-parametric methods, multiple and logistic regressions, structural equation modeling, hierarchical linear modeling, psychometric methods as well as experience applying them to real-world situations.
  • The employee shall possess expertise in statistical analysis software such as SPSS, SAS, AMOS, R, Access, SQL Server and/or STATA.
  • The employee shall import, clean, merge, manage, transform, validate, and/or analyze large multivariate datasets.
  • The employee shall possess technical writing and presentation skills, including the ability to provide interpretation of results.
  • The employee shall have experience with MS Windows, MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • The employee shall be professional, detail oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and speak fluent English. The employee shall have the ability to thrive in a team environment yet be able to complete assigned tasks independently or with minimal guidance.
  • The employee shall have the ability to achieve set goals, the initiative in performing assigned tasks, the ability to follow-up complex projects with influence, and integrity, and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel in and outside of the organization.
  • The employee shall have a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. NDA shall be provided to the Government Program Manager by start of performance.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior military experience or previous experience working in a military environment.
  • Knowledge in electronic health records.
  • Training in human subjects’ protections, regulatory affairs, and data collection.
