Aretum is on the lookout for an experienced and proactive Senior Consultant Research Analyst to join our esteemed team. Key Responsibilities
Lead a complex quantitative and qualitative research effort to define resilience measures for grant programs and produce results in comprehensive summary reports
Conduct high-quality research and analysis on the current resilience landscape, synthesize data, and present actionable insights for application in risk assessment methodologies
Create data visualizations, charts, and graphs using Excel and PowerBI that communicate complex ideas effectively
Develop and execute effective outreach strategies for a diverse cohort of stakeholders and prepare detailed reports post-outreach
Work with a variety of stakeholders, including government agencies, team members, and local government offices to address risk model concerns
Collaborate with other team members or departments to align research objectives with organizational goals
Provide guidance and oversight to junior staff and motivate team members to achieve project objectives
Think strategically, anticipate future trends, and develop plans to achieve long-term goals
Identify problems, analyze root causes, and develop solutions to complex issues
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field (e.g., emergency management, environmental science, etc.)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
5+ years’ experience leading and executing complex, program evaluations using various research and analysis tools and techniques (e.g., landscape analysis, qualitative coding, economic impact analysis, etc.)
Experience working with resilience-focused projects and/or programs
Working knowledge of hazard risk assessment methodologies and hazard resilience
Proficient visualizing data using Excel, Tableau, and/or Power BI to create charts, graphs, and reports that communicate complex ideas effectively
Experience developing detailed project plans using Microsoft Project or Excel, including assigning resources, time, and interim milestones across a critical path
Experience managing staff on a project comprised of junior staff and subject matter experts
Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a government public trust or clearance
Desired Qualifications:
Existing DHS or FEMA Entry on Duty suitability
Experience in federal government consulting
Familiarity with FEMA programs or initiatives
