SUMMARY
Bering Straits Development Company, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Rental Vehicle Manager for Aurora Inn in Nome, Alaska. We are looking for a Rental Vehicle Manager to lead our team of vehicle attendants and ensure we provide excellent customer service. Under the direction of the Hotel Property Manager, you will help to encourage a positive team environment and aid in the development of sales skills for our agents through training, coaching, motivating and example setting. Ultimately, you will help ensure that our daily vehicle operations run smoothly and that guests and employees are satisfied.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the rental fleet
Manage the rental vehicle business booking systems and checking in and out of rental vehicles
Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job
You will be effectively communicating with customers, responding to all customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and friendly manner both on the telephone and in person
Ensure the highest levels of customer experience for all vehicle renters and guests of Hotel
Work a variety of scheduled shifts, including mid-shifts, evenings and weekends
Ensure effective damage reporting to minimize unnecessary repair
Strong leadership and effective communication skills and be able to motivate and encourage good team work
Coordinate all rental fleet maintenance needs with Maintenance Shop
Light Hotel Maintenance needs
You will also operate the Hotel reservation system with taking and making reservations, via phone, email and in person and assisting with checking guests in and out of Hotel

Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Must have a clean driving record and have held a license for at least 2 years
Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job for example: occasional lifting and carrying 40 lbs
Must have a High school diploma. Secondary Education is a plus.

Excellent organizational and team management skills
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
Exhibit the ability to teach, lead and discipline others in a friendly and courteous manner.

Work experience as a Rental Vehicle Manager or similar role

Job is performed in a front desk setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
