Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the CFO of A&M's Tax Practice, the Senior Director of Finance will act as a strategic partner and advisor, accountable for driving global initiatives across all areas of finance including, but not limited to, global expansion, compensation and equity, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, financial operations, and training. The Senior Director of Finance will be responsible for both directed work coming from the CFO, as well as self-directed work that includes input and priorities from the leadership team. This role will drive operational excellence and execution of strategic and important projects in Finance.

Primary Responsibilities Include:


  • Collaborate closely with Tax's CFO to drive strategic financial initiatives, ensuring alignment with A&M Tax's practice areas and key stakeholders across the business.

  • Partner cross-functionally with global business leaders and Operations teams, to provide financial insights and support across various reporting lines, business units, and geographical locations.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations, and lead cross-functional teams to implement enhancements.

  • Drive various special projects, leveraging a broad knowledge of different functions, including Accounting, Finance, FP&A, Billing, and Operations

  • Partner with other Operations functions to implement change management and communication strategies to ensure successful adoption of processes and practices across the business.

  • Lead the development, implementation, integration, and adoption of new processes, systems, technologies, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business.

  • Provide mentorship and management to Finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for leadership meetings

  • Educate tax professionals around the globe on various financial processes

  • Partner with our business units to share best practices and benchmarks across the firm

Qualifications:


  • 10+ years of related professional experience in financial analysis, reporting, and finance operations and/or consulting, preferably in professional services

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required

  • Deep analytical skills with ability to translate data and trends into key insights and recommendations, financial acumen and financial modeling, etc.

  • Ability to handle multiple, concurrent projects as business requirements emerge and evolve

  • Experience in large, matrixed and global organizations

  • Experience organizing and working with multiple, cross-functional teams

  • Thrives in ambiguous environments and can resourcefully work through them

  • High level of accountability; self-driven and motivated

  • Excited to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to think about complex issues using scientific/critical thinking approach to solve problems and make sound judgments

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced expertise in PowerPoint and Excel

  • Flexibility to work longer hours, notably in the 4th quarter (Oct-Dec)

  • Ability to quickly and effectively articulate and communicate information to TAX Leadership

  • Willingness to travel as needed

Benefits Summary:

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. Compensation Statement:

The salary range is $175,000 - $200,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
