JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW



The Unit Manager shall be responsible for the management and operational oversight of the TriVent Unit. This position will ensure operational efficiency and accuracy, staff management, training and development and continued improvement of quality patient outcomes. Rehabilitation and Respiratory Team Members will report into the Unit Manager. Manager will be responsible to partner with the host hospital in coordination and training of Nursing department staff reporting to the Unit.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Monitors daily operational activities to identify potential problems and intervenes when necessary.

  • Informs the VP Clinical Operations/CEO/CFO and HR when necessary, to assist in the resolution of: outstanding patient cases; scheduling, quality concerns, reviews, staffing and employee relations issues.

  • Maintaining an efficiently staffed schedule to ensure Unit and Hospital patient safety and quality outcome standards are met.

  • Analyze operations to evaluate performance of unit and staff in meeting objectives, determine areas of potential improvements while maintaining compliance with Unit and host hospital policies and procedures

  • As necessary, communicates with hospital administration, patients, management of unusual circumstances, quality issues as well as Unit wins and success stories.

  • Initiates process improvements, including system and operational improvements within the Unit

  • Responsible for staff's scheduling and payroll, regular employee communication and follow up, along with assisting HR with special events or functions.

  • Management of staff includes: Initial and Annual Performance Evaluations, maintaining compliance with annual competencies, counseling and disciplinary actions. Work with HR in providing guidance and direction to employees and staff to assist with problem resolution, problem intervention and overall professional development.

  • Assist with hospital administration in developing and performing staff education and/or training based or corporate needs or based on process and/or quality improvements

  • Assist in the development and implementation of training modules with the hospital as needed.

  • As needed, develop unit specific audit reporting, performance measures tracking and reporting

  • Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.

  • Maintains unit operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting staff.

  • Works in conjunction with hospital partner to complete patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff; following up on work results.

  • Maintains staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.

  • Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests.

  • Resolves patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from other health care professionals.

  • Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  • Maintains inventory by studying usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies; approving requisitions and cost allocations.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.

  • Works with Patient Care Manager and VP, Clinical Operations in the daily and monthly reporting of staffing, as well as the Quality Statistics Dashboard.

  • Acts as the onsite primary Liaison between Unit and the host hospital


Non-Essential Duties: Additional tasks/duties might be assigned by the management team should they be deemed necessary for the betterment of the company to meet the day to day business necessity.



JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN Required, Master's in Nursing or Business Preferred

  • CCRN Preferred Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates)

  • Holds current CA State Nursing License

  • Current Basic Life Support Certification and Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required

  • Minimum 10+ years of senior management experience in hospital or clinical environment; experience including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work, and management performance of onsite and internal unit teams

  • Computer literacy a must with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and excel, database payroll management

  • Able to communicate with executive and professional level staff

  • Experience in developing operations standards, including developing training materials and documentation

  • Able to document employee performance and disciplinary actions




Compensation: This is a full time salaried position with expected salary of $160,000
