Director of Software Engineering - Windows Drivers


We are seeking an experienced and innovative Director of Software Engineering to lead our Windows Drivers team. As a leader, you will lead the full life cycle of software solutions of a Windows Drivers ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in Microsoft Windows OS, strong leadership skills, and the ability to execute on a product oriented strategy in a fast-paced environment. Based in Seattle, US, this is an opportunity to join a multifaceted, collaborative, and driven team, and provides a genuine opportunity to craft the best outcomes for Arm.



Responsibilities:





  • Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for all Windows development activities related to a Windows Platform/SoC.

  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team embedding a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure the successful delivery of Windows-based software products.

  • Provide hands-on guidance in software development, resolve technical challenges and drive platform efficiency.

  • Implement standard methodologies and optimize software development processes to enhance team efficiency, improve product quality, and accelerate delivery.

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks ensuring robust security, compliance, and operational efficiency.


Required Skills and Experience :





  • Demonstrated experience leading large software development teams!

  • Deep understanding of the Microsoft Windows operating system, APIs, development frameworks, and associated toolchains.

  • Experience in device driver development, (DirectX, DirectML and other peripherals) including WHQL Certification

  • Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, C#, .NET and other Windows technologies.

  • Experience in security, performance tuning, system architecture, releasing and maintenance with Windows.


"Nice To Have":





  • Experience of the wider AI ecosystem, Microsoft's and others

  • Familiarity with ARM architecture and software ecosystems

  • Experience with leading software/firmware teams delivering end products to market

Salary Range:
$273,020-$369,380 per year
