Job Summary

A Facilities Engineer Lead performs process and/ormechanical design of oil and gas production facilities, including newinstallations as well as upgrades and retrofits to existing terminals,platforms and pipelines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assignments will vary depending on the nature ofprojects received from clients and candidate's applicable work experience,expertise and proficiency.

• Lead project facilities / mechanical team byproviding guidance on budget, schedule, cost, and technical resolution internaland external to the discipline.

• Interface and reporting to project managementteam on discipline cost, schedule, and deliverables.

• Interface with client management team and clientcontractors for adjacent scopes of work.

• Develop P&IDs or mechanical flow sheets;

• Perform process simulations and develop processflow diagrams;

• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure anintegrated design that meets the project requirements;

• Gather data, including site surveys and existingconditions data;

• Perform sizing calculations for processequipment, piping, in-line instruments, valves, and pipelines using companydeveloped tools;

• Develop engineering reports and associatedspreadsheets;

• Perform troubleshooting and/or de-bottleneckingof existing facilities to optimize production;

• Develop or alter standard project specificationsto meet specific project requirements;

• Prepare data sheets for instruments andspecialty items;

• Coordinate and direct drafters in the creationof drawings;

• Check drawings and other documents. Verifycorrectness of design and engineering data to verify completeness of thedocuments;

• Interface with Project Managers, Engineers andclients, including attending project meetings;

• Assist Project Managers and design team withassembling the methodology for completing the design project effort. Research,learn and implement differing design techniques which may be industry specific;

• Analyze designs for efficiency of construction,use of materials, integrity and practicality of design.

• Review certain vendor / fabricator quotations,shop drawings, and related submittals.

• Maintain project files.

• Perform the necessary field work to obtainaccurate information for the design.

• Coordinate procurement activities.

• Provide construction and startup assistance.

• Develop regulatory submittals (e.g. MMS, USCG,and ABS).

• Additional duties as assigned.

• Projects that the Facilities / Process Engineercould be involved with include:

- Conceptual engineering for newfield or plant developments.

- Front End Engineering andDesign (FEED) and Detailed Engineering for equipment additions such asproduction separators, oil treaters, storage tanks, pumps and gas compressorson new and existing platforms.

- Design of related process andutility systems.

- Piping system design.

- Vendor interface for staticand rotating equipment packages.

- Engineering studies.

- Hazards Analysis.

Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

• Must have a BS degree or higher in MechanicalEngineering required;

• Requires ten (10) years' experience inengineering design and/or project management of deepwater upstream offshore oiland gas facilities; with fifteen (15) years preferred;

• Experience with rotating equipment design preferred;

• Familiarity with total project systems toinclude mechanical, structural, civil and electrical components to allowconsiderations of those aspects into a project or area design.

• P.E. or working toward PE registration ispreferred.

• Familiarity with all engineering and designrequirements for projects, including client provided specifications and allapplicable codes and standards.

• Requires knowledge of codes and standardsassociated with oil and gas production facilities and equipment installations(e.g. API, ANSI, ASME, NFPA).

• Experience in offshore facilities and/or gasplant design preferred.

• Must be eligible to work in the USwithout sponsorship. Ability to interact with staff at all levels.

• May require the ability to travel to clientsites.

• Availability and the ability to work on multipleprojects simultaneously.

• Strong written and verbal communications skills.

• Ability to interact with staff at all levels.
