Job Summary
A Process Engineer performs and process design of oil andgas production and midstream facilities, including new installations, upgradesand retrofits to existing onshore and offshore facilities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop Design Basis criteria from piecemealclient information;
• Recommend, develop and evaluate alternativeprocessing concepts;
• Perform process simulations and develop processflow diagrams with stream tables;
• Develop P&IDs or mechanical flow sheets;
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure anintegrated design that meets project requirements;
• Gather data, including production data, productspecs and site condition data;
• Perform sizing calculations for processequipment, piping, in-line instruments, valves, and pipelines using companydeveloped tools;
• Develop written engineering reports andrecommendations;
• Prepare equipment specifications and data sheets;
• Prepare specifications and data sheets forinstruments and specialty items;
• Coordinate procurement activities and evaluatebids;
• Review and approve vendor quotations, drawings,and related submittals.
• Projects that the Facilities/Process Engineercould be involved in include:
o Oil& gas production, gas processing, gas treating, and related processes andutility systems
o Domesticand International projects
o Onshoreand offshore projects
o PreFEEDconceptual design and selection studies, Front End Engineering Design (FEED)and Detailed Engineering (DE)
Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
• Must have a BS degree or higher in Chemical orrelated Engineering degree;
• Requires ten (10) years' experience inengineering design of greenfield deepwater upstream offshore oil and gasfacilities;
• Requires proficiency with process simulationusing HYSYS;
• P.E. License registration preferred;
• Field experience in operations and/orconstruction a plus;
• Familiarity with all engineering and designrequirements (process and production equipment, etc.) for projects, includingclient provided specifications and all applicable codes and standards;
• Requires knowledge of codes and standardsassociated with oil and gas production facilities and equipment installations(e.g. API, ANSI, ASME, NFPA);
• Experience in Upstream Oil & Gas productionsystems required;
• Experience in flare and blowdown system, PSVsizing, and intimate knowledge of API 521 requirements
• Must be eligible to work in the US withoutsponsorship.
