Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Medical Assistant in the Outpatient Psychiatry program at Behavioral Health Network!
Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Outpatient Psychiatry program with the following:
Providing services to individuals and coordination/support to psychiatrists and APRNs.
Measuring and recording vital signs as needed.
Providing assessments of individuals prior to their medical appointments, as needed.
Identifying, evaluating, and responding to changes in individuals' condition, including. laboratory reports, and reports findings
Utilizing electronic prescription for all prescription needs.
Taking medication orders from psychiatrist/APRN and phones in to pharmacy if needed.
Completing paperwork related to service in a quality and timely manner.
Providing education to individuals regarding their medication or other health issues.
Maintaining supplies, equipment and sample medications.
What are we looking for in a Medical Assistant?
Bilingual - Spanish and English (preferred)
Must have at least one year experience working with a psychiatric population.
Medical Assistant Certificate or Degree required.
Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and other Microsoft product, Internet, word processing and email systems.
Excellent customer service skills required.
Able to be trained and develop proficiency in other software applications as the need arises.
Excellent organizational skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Must be familiar with electronic health records.
Able to review/understand medication dosages and medication instructions.
Able to take blood pressure
