Job Description:

The Audit & Compliance intern performs, or assists in the performance of operational and financial audits conducted in all facilities at UC Health to evaluate and determine the adequacy of internal controls, compliance, and help ensure efficient and effective operating procedures. This will require the intern to interact with department personnel outside of Audit & Compliance and may travel to hospitals as needed. The Audit & Compliance intern also assists in the development of audit programs, prepares concise audit findings, assists in the development of the Audit Report, and performs special investigations and other projects, as directed by leadership.

• Currently pursing education in business or law.

• Perform preliminary evaluation of internal controls and prepare audit plans, programs and detailed questionnaires in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
• Perform, or direct the performance of detailed audits of data, systems and procedures in accordance with the planned audit approach, documenting these audits in clear, concise and logical working papers.
• Identify operating deficiencies and develop constructive recommendations to improve internal controls or improve operating efficiency and present them in well-written and concise reports.
