Warehouse Direct is looking for dynamic Inventory Planner who shares our commitment to excellence and innovation. The Inventory Planner’s primary responsibility is to analyze inventory levels on assigned vendors and or commodity item groups, make purchases to sustain demand and provide support for their assigned vendors to Internal Customers. This position is essential in maintaining Warehouse Direct’s Fill Rate Metrics and Service Levels.
Job Responsibilities:
Evaluate the forecasts assigned to the specified stock-keeping units (SKUs) and determine any necessary changes to achieve and align with company fill-rate metrics and inventory objectives.
Manage supplier delivery schedules and effectively establish and maintain delivery dates for proper inventory control.
Review the daily recommended order quantities and issue purchase orders to vendors.
Communicate with CSR’s and Sales Personnel concerning product availability.
Interact with office and warehouse personnel to ensure customer expectations are met.
Assist in resolving problems with purchases, discuss defective or unacceptable goods with warehouse to determine the source of the problem and the appropriate corrective action.
Contact vendors with any shipment receipt discrepancies confirmed by warehouse.
Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to address and resolve any issues or inconsistencies with invoices.
Work on various Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement projects as necessary.
Comply with established purchasing guidelines, protocols, and practices.
Complete other assignments as requested by Management.
Engage in diverse Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement initiatives as required.
Collaborate on and complete any other relevant tasks as directed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s/Associates Degree in Business or Supply Chain discipline desired.
Familiarity with Foodservice Disposables and Consumables is highly preferred.
Possesses 3-4 years of experience working in a distribution setting, or has shown the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out the responsibilities mentioned above.
Proficiency in Demand Planning/Forecasting Software.
Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Strong attention to detail, superb written and oral communication abilities.
