The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for writing, scheduling and sending external change management communications through various channels while ensuring each message is consistent with the overall Wheels communication strategy. With professional communication skills, simple graphic design skills, and a passion for innovative and integrated communication, this individual will support our external change communications strategy and execution. This individual must be self-sufficient when it comes to the content creation process-including gathering information, researching, writing, editing / proofreading, approving (or seeking approval from business leaders), and publishing. Must be extremely organized and able to manage multiple communication projects or requests in accordance with overall mass comms. schedule and request-to-fulfillment processes. This individual will also play a key role in supporting our internal communications and human resource teams by collaborating on internal awareness of mass external messages.

Learns and adopts new communication practices in support of Wheels external change communications strategy.
Partners with business stakeholders to identify, document and support their external change communication needs
Supports planning, writing and editing content for a variety of external change communications channels including digital communications (emails), all-client meetings, or other communication media. Responsible for the visual layout and design of the content.
Guides and makes decisions on behalf of external change communications to ensure all messages support the Wheels comms. strategy.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations / marketing or related field preferred.
Strong proficiency in all MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment: This position is in either Des Plaines, IL or Alpharetta, GA and operates in a professional office environment.
Positions Type/Standard Schedule: This is a full-time position and requires 8 hours of hours of work each day, Monday through Friday.
Travel: Travel is not typical for this role.
Physical Demands: Speak, hear, and see, and to use hand and fingers for computer keyboard and phone. Sit or stand for extended periods of time. Reach above head to pull paper attachments.
