Senior Sonographer, First Shift, Ultrasound

UC Health is hiring a full-time Senior Sonographer for the ultrasound department at West Chester Hospital.

The senior sonographer will oversee the day-to-day schedule of patients and be the subject matter expert for the department when it comes to schedules, accreditation, operations, and competencies as well as clinical aspects of performance.

  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with advanced certifications.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of equivalent experience.

  • Clearly communicates initial treatment and continuation of care to patient and family members while identifying potential physical/psychological limitations and deploying intervention as needed.
  • Perform all aspects of the Sonography specialty area which includes reviewing for appropriateness, completeness of patient histories, completing exam to charging, and explaining procedures to patients.
  • Oversees the schedule of the particular area/department/modality and optimizes the use of equipment and staff to most effectively serve patients and physicians.
  • Provides first line resolution of patient scheduling and employee relations problems.
  • Communicates with staff for performance evaluations as well as the continued development of technologists' skills in procedures.
  • Orders supplies to ensure the area is adequately stocked for operation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
