Description: Responsibilities:
Perform detailed equipment engineering for network augments. This includes eNSE hub migrations, developing all of the specifications required for network assurance to properly turn-up, inventory, and configure the equipment, obtaining appropriate management approvals, issuing purchase orders, creating applicable diagrams/ drawings, and ensuring vendor delivery.
Ensure that work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards.
Manage, input, and update central Network Inventory Database to reflect new builds, adds, and decommissions.
MUST HAVE SKILLS
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in configuring and managing Nokia Service Routers (e.g., 7750 SR, 7705 SAR, 7210 SAS).
In-depth knowledge of Nokia Service Router Operating System (SR OS).
Experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, and Segment Routing.
Understanding of IP/MPLS networks, VPN technologies (L2VPN, L3VPN), and traffic engineering concepts.
Network Management & Tools:
Familiarity with Nokia Network Services Platform (NSP) for network automation and management.
Experience in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization using tools like Wireshark or other network analyzers.
Scripting and Automation:
Knowledge of Python, Perl, or other scripting languages for network automation and configuration.
Understanding of APIs (e.g., RESTCONF, NETCONF) for automated provisioning and management.
Project and Documentation Skills:
Ability to implement router configurations in large-scale projects.
Proficiency in creating and maintaining detailed network diagrams and documentation.
Experience Level:
Minimum of 5 years experience in configuring and managing Nokia routers in an enterprise, telecom, or ISP environment.
Other Requirements:
Understanding of QoS policies, security configurations (ACLs, IPsec), and network redundancy protocols (e.g., VRRP).
Familiarity with software upgrades and hardware lifecycle management of Nokia router platforms.
Willingness to work flexible hours or be on-call for network emergencies.
