Overview

Intelligent Waves is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer III to provide end-to-end systems engineering services, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and documentation. Responsibilities include system installation, configuration, hardening, troubleshooting, automation of tasks, and development of detailed documentation to support operations. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, adherence to DoD and Air Force standards, and flexibility to support mission-critical operations, including occasional domestic and international travel.

Location: This Systems Engineer III position is based in Las Vegas, Nevada at Nellis AFB.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Travel will be reimbursed based on GSA Per Diem rates and DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).

Security Clearance: This Systems Engineer III must be a United States Citizen and hold a current Secret security clearance. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI eligibility.

Employees are required to follow all company and customer site COVID-19 protocols.

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Deliver end-to-end systems engineering services, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and solution documentation.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Operations & Maintenance, and User teams to evolve the system.
• Perform installation, configuration, hardening, and testing for new/updated system changes.
• Develop documentation for installation, configuration, hardening, and testing of new/updated system changes.
• Provide systems engineering for IT infrastructure, including Hyperconverged IT Solutions, NAS, S3 storage solutions, and end-user devices.
• Leverage experience with Dell VxRail, PowerEdge Servers, PowerScale Isilon, and DellEMC ECS Solutions.
• Utilize expertise in Windows and Red Hat Linux environments.
• Apply experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Apache HADOOP, CHEETAS, and other IT applications.
• Automate and script deployment, configuration, and O&M tasks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot performance and configuration issues.
• Develop and document CONOPS, TTPs, and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with technical and architectural standards as well as DoD/AF guidance.
• Build and maintain positive relationships and partnerships with peers and relevant team members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Be able to travel occasionally to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
• Be willing to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
• Be available to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, shift work, and overtime, to support mission requirements.

Qualifications

List of qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in an IT related Field OR Associates Degree + 2 years related experience
• DoD 8140 Certification (Security+ CE or higher)
• 5+ years of experience with the design/architecture, installation, and operations of hardware and software technologies listed above
• Ability to physically install and interconnect IT equipment in a customer datacenter
• Experience with Linux, Containerization Infrastructure to include Kubernetes and/or Rancher RKE2
• Experience with Air Force IT system is desired
