Position Overview:


The Strategy and Emerging Initiatives (SEI) Senior Manager - Project Manager, Health Care Consulting will lead and manage critical healthcare consulting engagements, with a focus on project management, Medicaid policy, program design, and healthcare delivery transformation. The SEI Senior Manager will work closely with healthcare clients, including government agencies, payers, and providers, to design, implement, and optimize Medicaid programs and other public health initiatives. Lead cross-functional teams that provide policy, program and technology design as well as provide operations deployment consulting services, stakeholder engagement, and technical assistance. Engagements include review of traditional and evolving health care delivery models, particularly novel concepts and new innovations focused on care delivery and population health outcomes.


Essential Functions:


Project Leadership: Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale healthcare consulting projects with an emphasis on Medicaid policy, program design, and implementation.


  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scoping, timelines, and resource management.

  • Provide strategic direction and ensure alignment with client objectives in the areas of Medicaid programs, healthcare reform, and value-based care initiatives.

  • Continuously refine project management methodologies and tools to improve outcomes and efficiency in healthcare consulting engagements.

  • Oversee project budgets and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within scope.

  • Monitor project financial performance, optimize resource allocation, and manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Deliver high-impact solutions that improve healthcare access, quality, and sustainability for Medicaid populations.

Medicaid Policy Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on Medicaid and other public health programs.


  • Advise clients on Medicaid policy changes, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in public healthcare.

  • Design innovative Medicaid, public health, behavioral health, child welfare and other programs that address key challenges, including cost control, care integration, and population health management.

Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with state health officials, health plan executives, and other key stakeholders.


  • Hold collaborative discussions and maintain strong client relationships through regular updates, reports, and presentations.

  • Provide insights into healthcare policy development and strategic recommendations to both public and private sector clients.

Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams consisting of consultants, subject matter experts, and analysts.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience, advanced degree strongly preferred.

  • At least 8 years' of related experience in healthcare consulting experience required, with a focus on Medicaid policy, public health programs, and healthcare system transformation.

  • Minimum 5 years' of supervisory experience required

  • Demonstrated expertise in Medicaid policy design, healthcare delivery models, and value-based care initiatives.

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex healthcare projects across the public and private sectors.

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams in dynamic, high-pressure environments.

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), policy analysis, and healthcare data analytics.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic-thinking abilities.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Deep knowledge of Medicaid programs, state and federal healthcare regulations, and healthcare reform preferred

  • Ability to formulate business, technical, and operational strategies

  • Proficient use of applicable software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing with clients and internally at all levels of an organization

  • Effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency

  • Organized and detail oriented

  • Ability to effectively and comfortably operate in a team oriented environment

  • Demonstrated high level of integrity, client service and leadership skills

  • Must be able to travel on occasion based on business and client needs

  • Strong passion for improving healthcare access and outcomes, especially for underserved populations.

The Team:
Myers and Stauffer takes pride in the welcoming and collaborative culture we have throughout our offices. For this position, the employee will report to one of our Directors or Partners on the Consulting engagement team.


Work Style:
Our general business hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, but can vary based on business needs. Dependent on performance, our in-office associates are eligible for a hybrid work schedule after their initial 90-day training period.
