Join our dynamic customer-centric team at a medium-sized company with over 400 dedicated employees spanning North America. As we continue to expand and excel, we're on the lookout for a Senior Systems Administrator for our corporate office location in Middleboro, MA. This position will be responsible for the support and maintenance of the company’s Windows and Linux servers both on-prem and in Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing services.

About the Role:

The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for installation, performance tuning, troubleshooting, maintenance and documentation of server and cloud applications. This position will serve as the technical expert that provides upper level support to the help desk, other system administrators and members of the development team. This position will also provide backup coverage for Sager’s legacy HP-UX systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure services and applications.
  • Create and maintain Intune and Active Directory policies.
  • Maintain/update virtual images for Citrix XenDesktop farm.
  • Act as technical lead to migrate on-prem servers and applications to Azure.
  • Administer on premise VMware vSphere environment and site recovery manager.
  • Perform upgrades, performance tuning and maintenance of warehouse application servers.
  • Manage MS SQL databases, including migrations and performance tuning activities.
  • Establish performance baselines and document troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ensure test and production systems are kept in a synchronized state.
  • Manage and monitor daily data backup processes and conduct testing of recovery procedures.
  • Integrate IT project objectives into organization goals.
  • Design and document maintenance, backup and recovery procedures.
  • Provide expert technical support and guidance to all IT team members.
  • Complete assigned projects of small to medium size independently.
  • Perform scheduled security patching operations for windows test and production servers.
  • Regularly perform cross training exercises with others to validate and improve documentation.
  • Research solutions and make recommendations during the selection and purchase of IT hardware and software.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant technical degree.
  • At least 5 years of IT systems administration work experience with a successful track record of completed IT projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to work well with all IT team members in a collaborative manner.
  • A strong desire to learn new applications and systems in a fast-paced environment.
