Purpose/Introduction Performance Pipe is currently seeking a Shipper / Material Handler to join the Knoxville, TN manufacturing location. This role is a full-time employment opportunity in a 24/7/365 polyethylene pipe manufacturing extrusion operation, producing high quality polyethylene products.Applicants note, please ensure your voicemail box has been set up on your telephone. Responsibilities
  • Participates in daily safety routines (both as an individual and team member).
  • Operates of forklift trucks and mobile equipment.
  • Uses basic hand and power tools.
  • Assists team mates as required.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum education of High School education or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work safely in a team-oriented environment.
  • Available to work Monday - Friday 8 hours/day (including some weekends and holidays).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • A demonstrated work history of shift work, in addition to working injury free and following work place/plant safety practices and procedures.
  • General knowledge and experience using various types of hand tools.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • A demonstrated history of learning and applying new information and technology with math and learning skills.
  • Proficient in communicating in English language (both verbal and written).
  • Capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs. without an assist.
  • Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous forklift and/or heavy equipment experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Testing Requirements:
  • Pre-employment and on-going testing includes: controlled substances, physical, background check, audiogram and vision.
Rate Information:
  • Starting Pay for this position is: $20.02/hour with time and one-half (1.5) paid for hours worked after 40 hours in a week.
  • After completing a successful probationary period and demonstrated learning ability the rate increases to $21.64/hour. Employees are reviewed thereafter on a regular schedule for potential increases.
  • Potential for year-end bonus.
  • Wages are paid bi-weekly
Work Schedule:
  • 8 hours Monday - Friday with some weekend and holiday work.
