Purpose/Introduction
Performance Pipe is currently seeking a Shipper / Material Handler to join the Knoxville, TN manufacturing location. This role is a full-time employment opportunity in a 24/7/365 polyethylene pipe manufacturing extrusion operation, producing high quality polyethylene products.Applicants note, please ensure your voicemail box has been set up on your telephone. Responsibilities
Participates in daily safety routines (both as an individual and team member).
Operates of forklift trucks and mobile equipment.
Uses basic hand and power tools.
Assists team mates as required.
Required Qualifications
A minimum education of High School education or GED.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work safely in a team-oriented environment.
Available to work Monday - Friday 8 hours/day (including some weekends and holidays).
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Detail-oriented.
A demonstrated work history of shift work, in addition to working injury free and following work place/plant safety practices and procedures.
General knowledge and experience using various types of hand tools.
Basic computer and math skills.
A demonstrated history of learning and applying new information and technology with math and learning skills.
Proficient in communicating in English language (both verbal and written).
Capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs. without an assist.
Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous forklift and/or heavy equipment experience.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Testing Requirements:
Pre-employment and on-going testing includes: controlled substances, physical, background check, audiogram and vision.
Rate Information:
Starting Pay for this position is: $20.02/hour with time and one-half (1.5) paid for hours worked after 40 hours in a week.
After completing a successful probationary period and demonstrated learning ability the rate increases to $21.64/hour. Employees are reviewed thereafter on a regular schedule for potential increases.
Potential for year-end bonus.
Wages are paid bi-weekly
Work Schedule:
8 hours Monday - Friday with some weekend and holiday work.
