Position Summary:
We seek a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant Professor with expertise in endothelial cell biology to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will advance our understanding of endothelial cell function and its implications in vascular biology, disease, and therapy development. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists.
Duties and responsibilities:
Experimental Design and Execution: Plan, design, and execute experiments related to endothelial cell biology, including cell culture, molecular biology assays, and microscopy techniques.
Data Analysis: Analyze experimental data using various statistical and bioinformatics tools and interpret results in the context of current scientific knowledge.
Protocol Development: Develop and refine experimental protocols to optimize research outcomes and improve laboratory efficiency.
Program Development: Directly playing a significant role in the development and management of the division's new initiative in "Lung immUnology & Novel Gene expressionS" (LUNGS).
Collaboration: Work closely with other researchers, including senior scientists and principal investigators, to support ongoing projects and contribute to collaborative research efforts.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of experiments, results, and observations. Prepare reports, presentations, and manuscripts for publication and grant applications.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues related to experiments and equipment to ensure smooth operation of research activities.
Compliance: Adhere to all institutional and regulatory guidelines related to laboratory safety, ethical research practices, and data management.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
Experience: Experience in endothelial cell biology research or related areas is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in cell culture techniques, molecular biology methods (e.g., PCR, Western blotting), and microscopy.
Skills: Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, ImageJ). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Knowledge: Familiarity with endothelial cell biology, vascular biology, and related research methodologies. Understanding of current scientific literature and trends in the field.
Other Requirements: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with advanced imaging techniques (e.g., confocal microscopy).
Experience in spatial transcriptomics.
Knowledge of bioinformatics tools and data analysis platforms.
Previous experience with grant writing or scientific publishing.
