Shipping - Warehouse Worker - Night Shift, S-Th, 11P to 7A
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Worker is responsible for operation of material handling equipment for the purpose of accurate shipping, processing and receiving, which includes but is not limited to scanning, moving, staging, locating, picking, loading, relocating, and stacking product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Required - Experience with picking and put-away
Determine storage area for finished product prior to shipment
Verify bar code move ticket and product is the same for inventory control.
Clean work area, such as removing banding, shrink-wrap material, and pallets to maintain safety.
Compare stock numbers and color of product with customer's order and other identifying data.
Load container cars or trucks and stack cartons by hand
Packaging finished goods with spacers and padding for quality shipping
Prepare a tally sheet to verify count and identify where product is located in the truck.
Assemble cardboard containers or select preassembled containers to pack product.
Complete a transition work order when transferring inventory
Pull orders and print packing lists for all shipments
Post weights and measurements for shipments during processing.
All other duties as assigned
Equipment Operation:
Forklift use - accessing the warehouse racks, transporting product safely, proper stacking, loading dry van containers.
Hand-held scanners - use to find product, pick orders and maintain labels within the department.
Computers- updating shipping documents, printing labels, processing shipments with drivers.
Safety:
Lifting - proper and safe technique to maneuver and lift up to 50 pounds
Understands how one's job contributes to the success of the organization as a whole
Works in teams and independently to meet shipping schedule.
Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet quality control standards.
Return product carton to production for corrections as required for maintaining quality control.
Compare identifying information, and count, weight or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
Education and/or Experience:
Previous Warehouse and forklift operation experience preferred
Well organized, forward-thinker, good communicator
High level of attention to detail
High School Diploma or GED, required
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or higher; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
