Overview



This is a seasonal position from April till early November. Housing provided at $19/day.


As Head Gardener, you will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of all garden areas. You will lead a team of gardeners & groundskeepers, ensuring high horticultural standards and implementing sustainable gardening practices.



Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement seasonal planting plans and garden projects
  
  


• Manage, train, and motivate a team of gardeners & groundskeepers
  
  


• Oversee the maintenance of lawns, flower beds, trees, and shrubs
  
  


• Ensure the health and presentation of plants through pruning, feeding, and pest control
  
  


• Manage budgets for garden supplies and projects
  
  


• Lead garden tours and educational sessions for visitors


• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  
  


• Maintain garden machinery and tools
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar Head Gardener or Senior Gardener role
  
  


• Formal horticultural qualifications (RHS Level 3 or equivalent) preferred
  
  


• Strong leadership and team management skills
  
  


• Extensive plant knowledge and a passion for garden design
  
  


• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions


• Knowledge of sustainable gardening practices
  
  


• Strong communication skills for interacting with staff and visitors
