Basic Job Functions:
The Scrap Inspector is primarily responsible for working knowledge of safe practices and procedures in fast paced environment with continually moving heavy equipment and overhead cranes. Including but not limited to proper PPE, working knowledge of clear and concise radio communications, working knowledge of computer systems (access required documentation such as scrap specifications, policies, procedures), working knowledge of scrap specifications, working knowledge of environmental policies and specifications, working knowledge of inventory control practices, working knowledge of Scrap Connect computer systems - a customized computer program for scrap receiving and inspection. Must be able to receive material, record images and generate email via tablet. Training for scrap identification by grade, for nonconforming materials and for potentially dangerous items, training for nonconforming materials and potentially dangerous item disposition.
