Job Description:

About the Company - Our client is a major utility company with a strong footprint in the SE Region of the United States with a focus in Power Generation, Nuclear, and Renewable Energy. They are currently going through some MAJOR Digital I&C Upgrades at two of their Nuclear Power Stations in Virginia. Due to the decade of work coming with these complex projects, they are looking to add resources in multiple operational teams and areas. They are looking too add multiple Nuclear Project Managers to oversee various major capital projects ($30M+) and a new ground up construction simulator building project.

What to expect:

  • 4 x 10 hour shifts typically
  • ONSITE full-time at either power station
  • 12 Month Contract (Likely to Extend)
  • Per Diem offered for Non-Locals

Top Required Skills:

  • Major Projects ($30M+) experience
  • MUST have prior hands-on experience as a PM handling utility tie in, safety implementation
  • MUST have Nuclear Industry experience as a PM
  • Formal Project Management Training

What soft skill requirements do you have (team fit and personality requirements)

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams

Nice to Have Skills:

  • PMP Certification
  • OSHA 30 certification

High Level Project Overview: Project will consist of a design build ground up building for Simulator training OR Capital Projects of $30M in size.

Responsibilities:

  • Onsite full time to ensure all projects are executed with Safety and Environmental Compliance as the primary focus of all personnel supporting his/her projects.
  • Coordination and training of all general contractors and subcontractors
  • Coordination of material and equipment deliveries
  • Manages or supports specific phases of major projects including construction activities, commissioning and transition to operation.
  • Develops and manages overall project schedule for construction activities and utility tie in.
  • Manage commercial aspects of the project with Dominion's suppliers and contractors.
  • Manage all project related administrative requirements as per PM process.
  • Works closely with the general contractors superintendent
  • Responsible for going conducting all safety tasks including but not limited to, pre-job safety briefings, and reviewing JHA's

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management, relevant technologies, and leadership in the assigned project areas.
  • Working knowledge of power generation and pollution control equipment. General knowledge of construction and operational field work practices, equipment utilization and work component scheduling.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements and industry safety practices.
  • Strong team building skills, demonstrated skill and ability in effectively leading teams to achieve project goals and milestones.
  • Demonstrates skill in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work to meet construction deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capability in handling multiple distinct projects at one time.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to develop, manage and monitor project performance to ensure results meet project requirements and schedules.
  • Ability to coordinate the resolution of technical problems and implement changes.
  • Ability to work and develop rapport with all levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to represent the project and the company in public forums
  • Skilled in problem solving, attention to detail. Skilled in comparing construction specifications and material requirements to physical and material work products.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting manuals, technical instructions and drawings, with an ability to accurately prepare brief written reports.

Preferred Years of Experience:

  • 6-10+ years of Project Management experience in the Nuclear Industry

Education:

  • 4-year degree preferred, not mandatory
