Sr Platform Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with an industry leader within the Hospitality industry, is seeking an experienced Sr. Platform Engineer for their Orlando, FL team! The Sr. Network Engineer will be immersed in the elements of cloud development, design, integration, operation, and support of infrastructure services. Working with operational and engineering experts to implement and maintain services, monitoring, reporting on cloud issues.

Experience of the right candidate:

• 5+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with distributed teams (developers, DevOps, QA, product managers).
• Strong ability to diagnose root causes of system issues.
• Monitoring/observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana.
• CI/CD pipelines: GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
• Tools/Platforms: Rancher, Kafka, ServiceNow.
• Database backends: Oracle, MSSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Couchbase.
• Mobile platforms: Android/iOS.
• Experience developing dashboards and analyzing metrics/logs to ensure system reliability and incident detection.
• Familiarity with secure engineering practices and compliance with industry security standards.
• Ability to write clear documentation and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with change/incident management processes.
• Proven ability to mentor and guide developers and teams.
• Background in driving innovative solutions for platform scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Desire to stay updated with emerging technologies and drive continuous improvements.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

• Design and implement software enhancements for cloud-based and networked applications.
• Oversee aspects of application platform architecture (cloud, data, and security) to align with business objectives.
• Drive system reliability improvements through proactive monitoring, metrics analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Develop dashboards and solutions to optimize platform performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and partners to deliver advanced technical solutions.
• Mentor team members and champion continuous development and innovation.
• Support planning and estimation for complex, scalable projects.
